Ok so I did an egr delete with the otr performance kit. Truck runs better as far as increased fuel mileage but still no power which is weird. My question is tho my egr cooler and the two metal pipes are still getting hot...I thought since I deleted the egrs and blocked the green hard pipes by welding them shut that it wouldn't get hot anymore. The only thing I didnt do that I've seen suggested is put a pipe plug in the crossover tube....is it normal for the egr cooler to still get hot and would anyone have suggestions of what to do if its not?

The Green pipes are still going to get hot because there bolted to the hot block even though there's no coolant running through them

Do you have a digital laser temperature gun if you do take a reading on the side of the cooler and the two pipes and post it here and I can do the same to compare

I'd say that's pretty normal for them to be hot since they're on the hot side of the motor. The EGR cooler is right above the exhaust manifold. And the cooler pipes are right next to the manifold as well. Those parts are still going to get pretty darn hot just from the heat coming off that manifold alone, right?

@mj5219 do you have videos or pics of what all you did for the delete. I'm trying to do the same on my d12.

had same delete kit on my 07 d12 for about 7 years or so. i had already plugged my crossover tube before the kit. my egr cooler and small coolant pipes have always got hot even though there is no coolant in them. i have had no issues with the engine at all. 1.5 million miles no engine work done and only uses 1 gallon of oil every 15-20k miles. I say don't worry about it but maybe plug crossover pipe with 1.25 inch plumbing plug just for piece of mind that no gas is going into intake.

I’m pretty sure the feds cracked down on the delete kits and OTR had to stop selling them to avoid any consequences.
