hey y’all
We have an 08 prostar with an ISX that I rebuilt 6 months ago, I opened the hood one morning and found that the lower radiator hose on the driver side had collapsed as u can see in the picture, my first thought was radiator cap but that and the reservoir are new along with the radiator hoses, they’re not spring lined. It seems to only do it when sitting, I had two heater hoses start to leak but I’m not sure if it’s because of this, there’s no vacuum leaks in the cooling system as far as I can tell, oh and radiators new. Not sure if this related but the idle is kind of jumpy with no codes. Keeps temperature fine. Any help appreciated thanks

Next time you see this after sitting all night, just pop off your rad cap and see if you are getting a bit of vacuum relief. If not, then the hose is collapsing on its own.

Take hose off and inspect for deterioration inside. Seems like hose is weak and cant hold its shape. That is cause by the coolant cooling after being hot. Take a plastic water bottle, at room temperature, and drink half the liquid . Now put the half empty bottle of room temp water in the fridge. When you check on it in a couple of hours you will see the bottle has collapsed inwards.
