When the defense lawyer interviews you say “ I’m glad you picked me because I can spot guilty people just like that”
They will send you home immediately trust me...

It's pretty simple. Don't raise your hand when they're to decide who pick with the questions they ask.

As for proving financial hardship. They want proof. I got picked 2 months ago and it wasn't worth the hassle.

Those of us that never answered any questions. Were released. Didn't have to stick around to hear the case.

Not all cases are 1 day either. Most of the stuff we were selected for. Was a week long.

One trick I've learned is to postpone it until the week between Christmas and New Year's. There's hardly any trials going on then and everyone usually ends up getting dismissed.

I was called, and got my jury service delayed until the summer when I was off work. Got picked for a medical malpractice case, where there was no medical malpractice. The plaintiff had a successful open heart surgery. Guy thought his leg/foot pain was the docs fault, but he was an undiagnosed diabetic, and had foot numbness was in both his feet. No payday for him or his lawyer.

Should have taken him out and flogged him in front of the courthouse.

In 40+ years on the road with my truck,I was called twice. Both times I told them what I did for a living, did not have a steady schedule of when I'd be home, truth. They said no problem, excused. Baltimore County,Md.
Retired now, would gladly go if called.

The only times I have been called was for the grand jury or some such, in other words for 6 months you would be at their whim, not just for one trial.
The last time I was instructed to call in 2 days a week, it seemed like I managed to either be working, with no cell service or just plain forgot, went the whole 6 months with out any problem, never heard of one anyhow. lol

Schedule your appearance day on Friday. ;-) you will be out from waiting area in 2-3 hours. Works in LA county courts.

The few times I've served I have enjoyed the experience. Last year I had to go in 3 weeks after I started my O/O business and couldn't fathom taking a couple weeks off for an extended trial. Explained it to the judge and was excused.
