I don't know why it wouldn't be freakin' FANTASTIC. $30 just for an envelope, and there's no product cost, it's ALL for shipping.
Is it just me or does UPS Freight SUCK?!??!?

Sorry but UPS purchased OverNight to have a Truck Load Carrier, just like Fed Ex purchased American Freightways,RPS and then Watkins. There was another a few years back but I dont recall who or what.
Outside of LineHaul UPS is no cake walk.

C'mon people. All LTL carriers treat you like a number but there is no other place to make 60-100k and be home everyday. Those who have no time in say the place sucks and quit, those that have time in say the place sucks and don't quit. Even after the take away to pay for CFI I'll still make 80k running line home everyday with 5 3/4 years in here at 28 years old.. UPSF & Parcel might be the two best jobs on the road. They will be well over $.60 per mile at the end of the contract.
I read the crap these OTR "CDL mills" pull and can't believe anyone here would rip an LTL company - especially UPSF. My last big gripe at Con-way was having to come in an hour earlier than normal and run heavy loads to a destination I have not selected on my bid sheet. BTW, that would not happen at UPSF because they have union representation. So I moaned to all my buddies about the injustice and made my $380 for the night being payed for everything I did - hook, mileage, drop, dock, hook, fuel, and split at the end and that is Con-way not UPSF.
UPSF might be the best place to be at this point in time. If you are there you will move up and continue to do so till they reach the top of the LTL industry. -
well i have been here over 5 yrs im quitting in july so no not the best place to work we now have someone from conway running our ops the late hr starts suck.....and the union yea thats a joke....i make .60 a mile now running team but sometimes it aint all about the money...upsf is wanting to run contractors around us and sit us at home....so if you dont work here then u dont know....overnite treated us like a human ups treats us like numbers.....pay always short now takes weeks to get my money...union no help so it not all roses here like u want to believe..

Not gonna dispute what you're saying but I'm also an LTL only or I leave the industry altogether. LTL is not for everyone but it is for me. I am only going by former Con-way drivers who say UPSF is about as good as it gets. I'm high enough on my terminals board that I would be crazy to leave for another driving job. I'm not pro or anti-union but I hope you have thought this through. UPSF has nowhere to go other than up.

As a driver for an LTL carrier, I can say that I'd leave the industry were I forced to go back to the TL sector. I'm home every night, I paid for everything I do (drops, hooks, fuel etc..) I'm very well paid and I'm treated like a human being.
A TL guy or anyone casting stones at an LTL carrier is almost impossible to imagine. -
i work for upsf ..... been doing LTL for 15yrs and guess what they are the same....well the union companies are.....wrked roadway, holland, overnite....which i thought i would retire here....then the corporate pigs swallowed us whole and now we are all just a number.....so i do know what im talking about when it comes to this company....sometimes not all about the money.....guys ..i like my sanity too.

Really? When I was in driving school I thought I heard UPS was the place to be. In Boston, the waiting list for trailer drivers was like 9 years or something silly like that. That was in 2000 though, so apparently things have changed.
