Yeah, I'll just pull in after a 14 hour day and do some sit-ups while getting something to eat, washing my clothes and talking to my family.
I can't believe they didn't even factor in the stress from dealing with the company you drive for, I had my BP jump 20 points in two months from that alone!

Good point, about the stress there Sad Panda.
Everything a driver DOES is stressful -and probably more so than most would ever think! Just navigating your rig down the road is stressful, meeting your window times, dealing with shippers, your dispatchers, the constant chatter from the radio or the cell phone or whatever you have running in the cab ....all of that is stressful.
Even the diesel fumes and car exhaust you breathe every day is stressful.
I mean, your body has to process all those pollutants somehow, right?
And yes, --carrying a little 'excess around the middle' is stressful too.
Here's a little tip that can help:
Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables!
I know, that sounds wacky -but it works....for both stress and for obesity!
Most folks don't get near enough fresh fruits and vegetables in their daily diets and it shows. Fresh fruits and veggies are jam-packed with essential nutrients and antioxidants --the stuff your body really needs to fight of stress, illness, colds, flu and yes, they will even help you with 'the battle of the bulge!'
Fresh fruits and veggies are also great sources of fiber.
Of course fiber will 'keep you regular' -but did you know that fiber will also improve your cholesterol? -lowering your LDL (bad cholesterol) by one point for every 1-2 grams of soluble fiber you eat!
Fiber fills you up too, satisfying your hunger and evening out your blood sugar -fighting of type II diabetes and keeping your energy steady and strong all day long!
Not so wacky after all, eh?
Try it for a week or two.
Keep a fresh supply of wholesome fruits and veggies handy for snackin'
Stay away from dried fruits -they're laced with high fructose corn syrup (bad news) and avoid the dressings and dips -there's nothing worthwhile in those.
Just reach for an apple and some baby-carrots, try an orange and some chopped broccoli or cauliflower. Have a tomato sliced up or roll it up in some lettuce.
Use your imagination!
All the vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and excess estrogen fighting compounds will help your body deal with the stress that you just can't avoid -and the extra fiber will lower your cholesterol while satisfying your hunger too.
Seriously....what have you got to lose?
To your good health!
~Paulblessedtrucker and onelikeseabass Thank this.
