No where to park

Learning to preplan stuff like that is what you're supposed to do.

 

You keep driving till you find the first available safe spot. Log reason why and maybe they'll let you off.

Can use the 14 hour exemption once a week if you still have on duty time left.

 

Preplan doesn't help if your planned spot is full when you get there.

Stopping after ten hours does, but not always an option.

Some days your screwed no matter what you do.

 

Let me school you a little bit here.........you need to down load trucker path, and also pay attention to your surroundings. That's how you learn where to park. You should always have multiple plans, from A - Z. Your day can change instantly. You may have to park in places you dont want to at times. When you have 1.5 hrs left of remaining drive time, that's when you start thinking about a place to park. Not when you're cutting it close. Trip planning is everything

 

Just pretend logs are like the ones you leave in stall 2 at the TA after the buffet and keep truckin driver

 

Well u need to have a plan a a plan b and a plan c and then another plan for when those all fail and then another plan for when that plan fails , somedays all of them will fail and u will have to park a no parking sign , just make sure u cover it instead of parking in front of it so some honest johnny be gooder doesnt call u in

 

I think I just threw up in my mouth a little.

 

14 hour exemption is used when there is bad weather and such, finding a place to park isn't a reason to use it.

 

Being observant at the end of the day helps also. Flying Bryan mentioned Truckers Path. Instead of using it as just a gauge for your favorite mega stop, look in that general area and see how many truck stops there are total. If you are going into a major metro area with few stops, GUESS WHAT??? Are you really going to drive up to the Loves and expect to find a spot? Well, don’t answer that.

If when driving an hour and a half before, and you see the pickle park full, and trucks on ramps, don’t try the truck stops until about 1-2am. If you absolutely need to be somewhere the next day, and going into a major metropolitan area, and your day started later than usual, stop 200 miles out and split log it. That’s if the customer doesn’t have overnight parking.
Even if they say no to the overnight, they may say that you can slide in early to beat the morning rush. That works too!
