i'm looking for any information on CFI/Conway. I was thinking about applying with them but I would like to find out more before I "jump on" with them. what about their rider policy, pet policy, benefits for a family, home time, vacation, inverters (how big can you have), and the last thing how are they with time off for military duty? any help would be greatly appreciated.

from what i have read on these boards, they are a good company with high training standards. i guess that is ultimately what you want in a good company. i am not sure how they are situated with the freight being down and all. but, all you can do is check into it. hopefully one of there current driver will chime in on all of the detailed information on them. i have checked out there equipment in the past, and it seems to be on the up and up.... good luck fellow wisconsinite......

Pet Policy, one small pet, $300 non-refundable deposit
    1500 watt inverter
1 day off for every 7 days off, can hilite/request to go home every 7 days, will get you home within 8 days of request, a few exceptions to this such as MT, ID, ME.
Vacation, 1 week after 1 year, 2 weeks after 2 years
Rider policy, anybody age 12 and over.
    Typically work with Guard/Military duty.
My opinion, good outfit to drive for, but I might be a bit biased, been with em for 17 years

Teams seem to be a major focus of Con-way truckload.
Teams are given priority when it comes to trucks, either Cascadia's, T2000, or T660 studio's.
One thing to note, I believe the all new hires will be required to go to Canada, and have Hazmat enodorsments. May not have to have the credentials right away, but there is a time frame where the need to be obtained.

I know a team that drives for Conway Truckload (formerly CFI), and one of the team is in the national guard. They are very good about getting him home every month for his guard duty, although the days he serves on guard duty do count against his home time. However, because they have to make sure they have him home on time, he is usually home a couple of days earlier than he requests...for example, guard duty is Saturday and Sunday, he only has 3 days of home time built up because he has to come home every month for duty, so he will request to be home on Thursday before duty starts, they will usually have him home on Wednesday, sometimes it has been as early as Monday. The down side is that he loses money for all that time he is at home, the up side is that he gets to enjoy more time at home than he would normally be allotted. Since he is single with no kids and no bills, he prefers the extra time at home.

His team partner is not in the guard, but he gets the extra time at home also, even though he does not officially have the time at home built up to use.

They live in Florida, so that might have some influence on how early they get sent home also, not sure. They've never had to wait more than 1 day for a load when going back to driving duty after time at home (not bad considering it's Florida).

All in all, they would recommend Conway Truckload, they are happy there and have not experienced the horrors that others have with some companies.:yes2557:
