Might be a useful tool if the person is qualified such as Ex Military for example, that may have some training in this area already. I think most drivers are pretty helpful in most cases where they see something going on thats questionable or should not about reporting it to the authorities already.

I was a member of Highway Watch, but it no longer exists. Is this the same thing but with a different name?Rollover the Original Thanks this.

Call me paranoid, but I don't make it a habit to tell the government at any level anymore than I have to. The government is already way too intrusive and I'm not inclined to assist them in becoming more so.
112racing, osokusmc and lonewolf4ad Thank this. -
Is this going be along the lines of pilots who are registered to carry firearms? I'd be interested in that.

Hi all; I see OOIDA is going to be gently pushing this program little harder......a booth at MATS, etc. Anyone else bothered by this? Or is the feeling here that this is a good thing?
-
So they started this 2 yrs ago, and they're now going to be pushing it more? If so I must wonder, why? Why do they feel the need to push it more? Is there something that those D.C. wingnuts know that we should know? Could it be that they are going to setup a crisis? Naw, certainly not.
I don't need to join any organization to look for something that might bring harm to me, my family, friends, or country. It's real simple, you see something, report it to the local law enforcement. They came up with this concept about 30 yrs ago. They called it Neighborhood Watch, then Business Watch. It's nothing new. Sadly most people really could care less about their neighbors. Now that I think about it, it was really about 45 yrs ago. I can remember while at my grandmother's house, she would see someone that she didn't recognize, approach a neighbor's house. Back then it didn't require calling the police, just stepping out on your porch (houses used to have them), and yelling at the person, asking what they were doing. The person quickly left the area if they didn't belong there. -

Is there any formalities to participate in OOIDA program?

Lonewolf.... Maybe you've used that before, but its the first I've seen it. Awesome, I hope to see it more. It can be the dead thread warning!
