That wouldn't of solved anything except for putting him and his buddy in jail an the swift driver laughing to the bank after he sued them for assault. Just my thought, after something like that has happened no reason for getting worked up and starting a fight. Its already been done and it is what it is.

Congratulations to you and to all the drivers that have those kind of miles under their belt but you have to remember you started some place and all I was saying is that you guys judge every Swift driver the same and like I said some of them should not be driving but don't judge me just becouse I drive for Swift. I'M not as exp as you guys but I would help anybody that needs help don't matter what company. :yes2557:

I will help anybody anywhere and have done so. i didn't down grade you for driving for swift. I simply made a statement that after having the experience under my belt that i do you know who to be more prepared for such instances around than others. Yes we all started somewhere with no experience but i didn't graduate from a school that zips someone through in a few days, sticks them with a trainer that has 6 months experience and then throw them a truck and say go at it son! I started by learning from people who had over a million miles under there belt. U started running local on the farm hauling hay and grain buggies and knew a truck before i took off down the highways for 3 or 4000 miles a week. As far as judging Swift drivers I am sure there are some good ones out there but the ones that have proven my theory right ( just look at above statements posted by psanderson for example) have made me judge the rest of them for it. Is it right? Maybe, Maybe not. Either way I have not been proven wrong yet.I wish you the best and hope you are not one of the ones that proves my insight to be correct.

Thank you. I hope I won't prove you correct on your theory. I was trained
by an exp mentor and I practice safety. (GOAL) at all times and I'm 26,000 miles exp accident free.:yes2557:

    .

Even experienced drivers suffer from brain farts. :biggrin_25526:

I sat, watched, and laughed my ### off at a 30 year vet yesterday. As he tried to drag a loaded trailer away from the dock, and potentially damage the drive line.

Before he realized/remembered, the airlines had been disconected. "He" disconnected them, prior to loading.

He got in the truck, pushed in the valves, gave it a tug...then realized something wasn't right.

Got out, made sure he had removed the wheel chocks. Got in, noticed the air had dropped, revved engine to build air....tried again. THEN he looked out the back window of his day cab, and noticed the lines.

Yes I have made mistakes myself and i've seen many veterans make them too. Usually mistakes as you mentioned are from simply getting in a hurry and not paying attention to what you are doing. The thing that is key is I learned from my mistakes. If you learn something great, if you don't and you repeat might be time to think of a different career. :biggrin_25525:

I had to lock up my brakes on a 2 lane road a couple of days ago. A driver pulling a mobile home pulled over on the shoulder of the lane going the other way and backed up about 20 4 wheelers. A LTL line haul driver pulling doubles decides to pass them. He gets around about 5 and sees me. By then there was no where to go until the cars he tried to pass let him back into his lane. We just sat there looking at each other head on until he could get back over.

I am a patient guy and calmly set there until he passed me and I saw placards on the side of his truck. My load was hazmat flammable as well. For some reason seeing those hazmat placards really pissed me off and I let him know what an idiot he was on the CB. You just can't get into a hurry hauling hazmat.

You can't get in a hurry with any load, those are the drivers that create rigs and 4 wheelers to swerve and hit the ditch and possibly another vehicle.Being a double he could have lost control of the pup trailer and dumped it.Be safe out there.

Let see you have been driving 5 years, thats 200K min per year. I dont think so. So here we have a pot calling a kettle black, hmmmm. Swift is bound to have more unqualified drivers than any other carrier, They are the largest training carrier. But that has little to do with we all have and will make mistakes, for instance some of us cant add.
