just curious if you don't mind, but after ripping out the a/c system, how much weight did your truck lose.??

i'd imagine you took out the compressor, and condenser, but left the evap in the dash..??

unless that was super easy to remove as well..??

 

I just plugged the holes going through the firewall with some bolts, and removed everything from under the hood...lines, compressor, dryer, brackets, condenser, etc...didn't touch anything inside the cab, as it hasn't been in my way yet. Took about 40# off my empty weight & freed up a little extra HP since the engine has 1 less pulley to turn.

 

Eh I did 6 pick ups in pheonix loading trailer. Its not that bad. Just remember to hydrate and apply and reapply sunscreen. Then shower and change clothes because you will be soaked in sweat.

Dont be the driver I saw at the Flying J with his whole left side bright red with white scabs all over, peeling skin, and red cracks in skin that look like they bleed sometimes.

 

i keep my house on 65 degrees with fans going.

 

good floor mats under your feet. will keep the heat off your feet.

 

40 pounds is considered tolerance to the weigh stations. Insignificant...
Today's AC compressors are efficient enough. They use less gas than driving with the windows down.

 

For a week we heard the media and the bs about extreme heat here, it got up to 97 one day and wondered when we would actually see 100 or 102 like we have had in the past for four days at a time. They called 97 bad for some reason and I was telling my daughter that I had no a/c in a truck I was driving back in the 70's when we had a bunch of 97 to 100 degree days, and I was sitting on top of the engine without a whole bunch of material to stop the heat soak.

 

I sleep just fine. It's nice and cool in this cab day and night

 

I been running nights alot lately... I pull my windshield curtains , set the A/C temp to 66 degrees, and sleep like a dead man. Also try to park with the cab facing in a North easterly direction to reduce the amount of sunlight on the windshield during the hottest time of day.
