Question about PC

And if they ever did then the first time a truck driver was on vacation and couldn’t make their destination they would be on here complaining about how the government has no business telling them how much they can drive.

 

Different companies are voluntarily setting certain limitations on PC. They can set it to unlimited if they want. I have mine set to unlimited on my Omnitracs device, but I’m no outlaw.

I’m not sure if I should be posting this, but these are the options on Omnitracs/Qualcomm.

 

It's not an exemption as much as too short a time for anyone to care. I.E. there is no law that specifically states checking the brakes is not driving.

 

Keep Truckin doesn’t have a limit, you simply choose if you want to allow it or not. My brother runs VDO and his has a limit of 1000 miles, not sure if that’s a default setting or one his office chose. He gets a warning when he’s approaching 1000 miles but nothing happens if he drives past it, it continues to log PC.

 

Yeah I don’t think they should have a say in it, but I’m just an outlaw like that I guess.

But the Rich 70 year old driving that 40 foot long 32,000 pound RV to Lake Tahoe can kill just as many as a commercial truck/...

Yet they can be up all night n day driving till the cows come home

 

I agree when it comes to personal vehicles. I also don’t want to see what this industry would be like if it weren’t regulated. It’s bad enough already.

 

Agricultural exemption. Some guys log out, some of us use PC anytime we’re exempt.
