1 year experience, an $8,000 International 9400i that's been paid for with cash, a perfectly clean driving record, 27 years old, live in Oklahoma. I'm either going to lease on somewhere or get my own authority and do power only, so as far as "value of equipment" I can't speak for a trailer yet (since it will vary). What would you say now, $8,000 a year?
-
Running radius will be wherever I need to go. I'm divorced with no kids, so i'm not afraid to run the road.

If you lease on, you don't need to worry about cost of insurance.
With your stats I'd guess around $6500 and a little more if you insure a trailer as well. But, I'm not an insurance agent! I pick that number because you're not a newb and 9k isn't a lot to insure damage-wise. Also Oklahoma isn't ringing my spidey-sense as to one of the expensive states to insure in. -
Thanks. I appreciate the info.

Thanx for running this post.
I too am looking at buying a truck (granted used). There is a company in Presque Isle that supposedly finds loads for its owners. Not sure where I will go just yet. -
For your own authority and all the paper work, it should be around 10K. Also, some insurance companies want you to pay a quarter or even half of it up front.

You certainly claim to know all things trucking.......

Reviving instead of re-posting..
I searched the site, but I can't find a comprehensive checklist for buying a used truck.
I will be looking to purchase a used truck, but I don't know what to check.
Vehicle Inspection should include:
1.) Oil Analysis
2.) Transmission
3.) ?
4.) ?
