That part I didn't know about....... but I really hope they don't kill the mileage bonus on solos................. especially the year end mileage bonus, continued service bonus and safety bonus. If so.. Im 99.9% sure he's gone since that on average ends up being around $5,000 total.

The only mileage bonus that was eliminated was the trainer monthly bonus, Trainer/Solo Yearly, Solo Monthly are all still there....I still get my on time bonus also

Werner considers you over speed over 67mph in a company truck

I was going to go to school here in Las Vegas Nevada with Southwestern Trucking. They sent me to a few places that provide free money to people who want to drive. The first requirement was 2 preapprovals for hire. I got one from Swift and one from Werner. Werner sent me a brochure that said they pay .49 cents a mile, but their website says .12 cents a mile. Which is it.
Also, when I went back to get the funding approved I was told I couldn't get approved because Swift is not hiring the drivers that they sent pre-appovals for.
I guess I will be going to Central in West Valley City because so far they seem to have a pretty sweet program going.

    Thanks for any answers.

I don't have any family or friends to live with down in the southern area that I could live with at a cheap rate or even do odds and ends around the house to earn my keep.I just can't afford to move.I have thought about that, but at this time I just can't move with no money.

The bad part is that if you have just gotten your CDL and have been waiting for werner this long and decide to go with a BETTER company, that company will want you to take a refresher course. Most the time they want 40 hrs. I drove for werner and I left their truck at ex. 5 on 55 in west memphis at the flying j and that brother was the best thing I ever did. Consider it a blessing that they havent roped you in.

I have had my CDL for 9 years and worked for 3 companies but for short periods of time(for various reasons). If a company was to sponser a refresher under a contract of some sort I'd do it.Other than that I can not pay for a refresher or get a loan to(credit sucks).I realize now I should have stuck it out with PAM instead of loosing my temper and not going back out after home time.I regret that mistake.I really did like the truck I had with them,I just lost my cool when the driver manager I had would let me sit in the company yard in Laredo for 3-4 days and watch other drivers come and go and hear him tell me there were no available loads,he did this to me 3 seperate times. So when I finally did get home for home time I never went back out.I realize now that goes with part of being a rookie,I understand that the rookies get the loads that the vets don't want. But is it really necessary for any driver manager or dispatcher to play these types of games that were played on me?We're all out there trying to do a job.

I’m in your boat. I live about 40 miles east of Phoenix Arizona. I applied about 3 weeks ago. They pre-hired me but now im on a waiting list for Orientation also. I call each week and im told that as soon as freight picks up ill hear from them. I'm going on my 4th week now. I don’t know how much longer I can wait. As of Friday I called on an OTR position with Digby Southwest (aka D.s.w.) out of Tucson and that sounds more promising. Fingers crossed....
