Thanks for the info JstNew! Luckily their Wisconsin training center is only 3 hours from home for me so hopefully, it won't be to hard to get back and forth during the weekends. Time to quit reading through the boards and get some applications out there! Good luck on your training. I would love to hear how it all goes

 

Keep in mind that just because your close to a school doesn't mean you will go to that one... the wisconsin one was closer to me also (4hr's) away... at this point millis will put you in what classes they have open... IN these hard times just be glad they can get you in if accepted... from what i understand millis is truely an acceptional company when it comes to the trucking industry.

 

Just so everyone knows. Millis is supposed to be closeing it's georgia and Wisconsin schools. only going to have Ohio school. Don't know how soon this is supposed to take effect.

I did'nt know it was that soon. guess they gotta cut costs somewhere.

 

So what does closing two schools mean? Less turnover more people staying put or turnover staying the same with no new hires? Anybody no the answer to that!

according to the wisconsin instructor, there will be one more class and then that's it, at least through summer. he cited the reason as being that no one is leaving. i suspect there are multiple reasons for closing them up for the time being, however, i doubt all the reasons are fully known beyond a small group of people. we can only speculate. for me, the "why" matters little, as long as they stay in business, continue to grow, and continue to be an outfit that treats drivers fairly.

 

i would not worry about them going out of business as they have been keeping me at around 2800 to 3000 miles and getting home on weekends still
