Tried to go to southern Utah today. Made it to Provo and the rooftop A/C gave out. Can't seem to keep it running even with both generators. It was 112 degrees in the motorhome when we decided to cut our losses and head for the house.

 

Can you jump them together like you can the Honda 2000eu?

Yes I have the parallel kit.

I think the compressor is locking up because both generators show an overload. 7000 watts should have been plenty to run an ac unit

 

Sounds like the run/start cap may be failing, they sell a soft start for these as well

Yes a Coleman mach 3 I had on my 96 IHC took all of a 15A circuit and I found that a 50' 14gauge extension cord had too much voltage drop. 25 ft was okay but a 50 ft 12gauge worked fine. also check into a larger capacitor for starting the compressor. If the compressor is locking then look at buying a replacement top unit off amazon or ebay. It may be cheaper than changing the compressor at a refrigeration repair place, it was for me in 2000.

 

Somebody is going to have trouble getting insurance next year. And that is if they get the trailer repaired or replaced by insurance. The front hopper is probably not repairable
