If u guys ever get the chance to come thru gadsden alabama, make sure to stop here at the petro, this place is real nice. Im stuck here over the weekend , have a delivery north of atlanta, decided to pull up short here in alabama, im glad i did cuz this place is real nice. Smells like a typical petro, (like piss) but its not busy at all. The lot hasnt filled up past halfway both nights. The fuel island at most had 6 trucks at any time of day and there is 10-12 fuel pumps And there is no reserved parking , aleast i didnt see any. U dont need it , theres plenty of parking all night. Showers are always open . the only bad thing , its only 2 ####ters but if u time it right they will be open. Best thing is its not filled with 4 wheeler locals and traffic . its always very quiet when i go inside and never busy. For food u got popeyes inside. And theres starbucks. Theres a bunch of little resturants around this area as well. Everytime i go inside the cashiers remeber me from the night before and they are really nice , its the little things that impress me . and yes they have beer . ive been drinking all weekend. There seems to be a truck wash also across the street and they even conviently give u a dirt lot to drop ur trailers into, even the sign says no dropped trailer on asphault but u can drop them across the street in dirt lot.
This place is definatly going on my truck stops that i will go out of the way to come to, the service i have got here is tremendous.
Made my weekend much better!!

Glad to see someone post a positive experience about a truckstop. This sounds more like what I was used to when I ran down there, I would be lost these days with reserved parking and all the fast food joints in truckstops I keep reading about.

It's a shame last time I was there it seemed pretty old school.
Many older trucks parked there.
Party on!!!skellr Thanks this. -
It is a shame, how things have changed, once all the chains strated buying out the smaller ones, and it sounds like the large ones ones too.
When I was running down there petro was petro and all but a couple of what they called petro express had an iron skillet.
The iron skillets served pretty good food and nearly always had good waitresses, they were always busy too, usually real busy. I can't imagine if any eatin joint makes money, that they were not turning a profit.
A lot of them the locals would even eat there.Intothesunset Thanks this. -
Too bad Gadsden is kind of a dump and ruined with gangs and drugs like many smaller Alabama towns.

I’m in Gadsden right now, delivered 44,000 lbs of rubber this afternoon, waiting on a load of tires in the morning. I’m parked in the Walmart parking lot, the one near the Goodyear plant, usually I park on the street alongside the Walmart that’s across the interstate from that Petro. I’ll check out the Petro next time!
