    Well you should never just TAKE IT. Document all you said such as your detailed account of what happened. You might be able to get the ticket thrown out or reduced to a lesser charge. Anytime you are able to get one dropped to a lesser charge you are doing yourself a favor. One incident is not the end of the world but it would benefit you to at least give some effort on your own behalf. Good Luck.

    I would hire a lawyer and try to beat the ticket. OOIDA can refer you to a reputable lawyer in the county where the accident occurred. I was written a bogus ticket a couple months ago and was able to beat it. I didnt even have to appear in court. It was costly but worth the money. The ticket may only be 3 points on your license but they do add up after a while and your CDL must be protected. States, cities and counties are writing more tickets in order to make up for budget shortfalls. They especially like when you are from out of state because they think theyve got you for shure.
