Trucking is an easy job for lowlifes to get into. Think about it, you generally don't need a fixed address. I mean, look around at the people you see at the truckstops. I have met my share of scary truckers out there. There are truckers out there buying drugs at truckstops and running around with ######, I wouldn't put it past them to kill one of these girls and dump her body, then take off down the road.
It's not picking on truckers, it's just reality.
Perhaps killers become truck drivers vice truck drivers become killers. Not all rape victims or bodies along highways are the products of truck drivers. I am a former driver & have been on active duty military for 19 yrs, I have seen my share of rape victims & murders committed by military personnel. But I won't state that I suspect all rapes & killings near a military base are committed by military personnel nor would I state a fact that I suspect they were committed by such military personnel. I am sure highways are used by all other type of driving machines other than semi trucks. There are plenty of military that do drugs as well, that is why each command commits to random urinalysis and sometimes sweeps for everyone if there is a suspect. The will root out the lowlifes in the military and either put them in a place similiar to Ft. Leveanworth or discharge them. Why did I compare your writing to my life in the military? Because people who commit capital offenses or do drugs are everywhere & not just in trucking.
I assume that Lil Blue Pony as well as I, take to a certain offense on how a lifestyle such as trucking is portrayed in your writing. The way I read your post, you seem to have a grudge against trucking, just remember, it is the way I Read your post that gave me that conclusion that all bodies found on highways are from truckers. For me, it wouldn't suprise me that perhaps professional hitmen took out these souls & left them on the highways to implicate others & keep the trail off of them.
Never, ever, ever accept a ride at a truck stop

Seems like everyone just wants to pick on me. Yeah, no #### criminals are everywhere, I didn't say that ALL murders that happen on the highways were done by truckers, I didn't even say that most of them were, I just said there was a good chance that SOME of these girls that go missing and end up being dumped somewhere on the road were done by truckers because truckers would have a better chance of getting away with it. You guys can believe that truckers would never commit a crime all you want,
Why would I have a grudge against trucking, it is the only job I have ever done, trucking has been good to me. I have many, many friends and family members who are truckers. Just because I say that SOME drivers may be criminals doesn't mean that I have a grudge against trucking or that I hate trucking. -
If I were a criminal, I would look to get into trucking for the access and anonymity that it provides. There are plenty of other professions as well that suit other particular types of criminals. The majority of truckers out there are hard-working, decent individuals but you have to admit that there are a few rotten ones out there as well.
-
I wonder how much a person could really hide. The rotten ones tend to stick out a bit. -
Every profession on earth has its lowlifes.Everywhere you look something is not as it seems.Good and bad live next to each other always.

I would suspect a traveling salesman. He has no tracking system. They are always "like salesmen".
I traveled with one years ago for our company. He made me uncomfortable the way that he talked about women and other people. He traveled by himself most of the time. -
Of course there's bad seeds in trucking, and of course there's bad seeds in other career fields as well.
Here's where Li'lDevil messed up IMO.
She should have made it aware from the get go (within the first sentence) that she wasn't turned off by or even remotely anti-trucker. I have to admit, I was initially infuriated by her original post. Sometimes we all could stand to be a little more clear with what we're wanting to convey through these written words.
Just my $.02 on the subject.
Lil Blue Pony Thanks this. -
Who's is killing Cereal? Is it Kellogs? What is this persons or thing's MO? Now I have to go to Wally world to get picked up by laldy truckdriver? I don't like Wally World.
How many different police departments are there? Starting with Wally World's own and ending w/SS, how many can you name and are you sure there are only 700 or so? Get serious. Or have they caught him too? There's at least the Metropolitan Police, the Supreme Court police, the Park Police, the National Zoo police, the US Mint Police, and the Capitol Police. National Zoo police=Squirrell Cops -
huh?

In defense of Lil'devil, I read her post and she made perfect sense. She doesn't come off as anti trucker, she said her father who is a life long trucker said what he experienced. he was opposed too her becoming a driver because of the safety issues on the road today. She also stated she is a driver and can see where a driver could be implicated in the murders. Given the facts of the mobile lifestyle of truck drivers.
I tend too agree w/her that a driver has easy access to victims. But, I also agree that anyone who travels for a living can be a suspect as well. That's just my opinion.
