Hey fellas. I own Volvo 670 2011 with cummins isx500 engine. Okay here is my question. I have a vibration coming from under the truck and i can feel it in the seat and go therough the cab, but only when i go 55-60 that is when i feel the most and it goes like buzzzz it’s just annoying. I took my truck to the shop and they replace my springs on the front after i did alignment and balance my steer wheel. They check the drive like and u joints saying that all of them look nice and tight. Cab mounts good, motor mounts good. Last year i replaced something in my front differential think it was power divider maybe i think the differential was slipping, anyway since the day i left the shop i remember there was a little vibration but only i could’ve noticed bcs i know my truck. My question is is there any chance they put a parts with wrong ratio (i might sound stupid but i think i read somewhere someone saying that) i don’t know. Around 65 on crouise control you can barely feel it but there is still some vibration. Any help is welcome. Already spend 3k and vibration still here. Thanks

I had a vibration last year, replaced my driver side steer which had a thin flat spot on inner treads, that cleared it right up, but i remember when researching problem people said could be a hundred different things causing it, good luck

That is true it can be a pain in the ***. I have 120k on my steer tires but they are fine i think for another 30-40k. The steering wheel is straight ain’t moving. I hope there will be some driver who has some symptoms like mine and maybe help me out. Thanks anyway

I had that kind of vibration since I owned my truck and just fixed it last week.
That’s definitely a drive line type symptom with a bussing vibration and felt in the drivers seat.
See my thread in the heavy duty diesel mechanics section
“ what’s wrong with my driveshaft”
I am willing to bet something got installed wrong when you had the rear end work done.
When an issue is noticed after work was done always return to the last place that was touched to look for your problem.
Nine times out of ten that’s where you will find it.

I did check the leveling valve but i don’t hear any leak or something. Do you think it can be something is bad inside the leveling valve. The rod is also in good shape it’s not bend or something, but i have to say when im on pick up or delivery when the guy go in and out w the forklift this leveling valve is leaking and then stop after sometime.

I see your driveline was checked and is looking nice and tight,. Did they check if is phased ?
It happen to me a couple of times , unexperienced mechanics working on drive line and once after towing the truck, tow truck driver removed the drive shaft before towing and instaled it bad out of phase when we got to shop . After fixing the truck and back on the road I noticed the vibration and didn't know what's wrong with it.
You can check it yourself, it's simple, just watch this image bellow .
Btw, I read this article ( i Just googled looking for phasing image to explain it..) , the DOT inspectors are trained to watch for this defective installation.

Well i guess the way they checked is moving up and down to see if there is any movement but last time my u-joint was shot the neddles inside were damages and there was a hole on the cup and i was taking my truck few times bcs i had vibration and i point on that u-joint and he was like it’s good it doesn’t move. Okay man like don’t you see that there is hole and obiously is damages so i have to take it to another shop and be like just changed that u joint. I hate when i go to the shop and tell him to change some part and he start telling me his stories how i shouldn’t have to replace it bla bla. Im want to be changed and im paying you like i don’t see reason why would you argue w me just changed bro. Anyway i checked and they are in correct position. I changed the u joint that was in front of the first diff and it has another u joint at other side of that shaft i noticed after 2 weeks maybe the cup that holds the oil was gone from that joint. I will show pic but like i said not movement. Idk if i got crazy one day VOLVA will be responsible

What about drive shaft carrier/center bearing? The rubber around it gets weak after awhile.
