Never heard of that happening. I’m sure once they took a good close look at it, it wouldn’t be an issue. If I was going across a scale though, i probably would of done it the same BUT cleaner. I’ll see if I can find anything on the regulation book about that.
MartinFromBC Thanks this. -
Plastic pvc pipe with glued on attachments going from Laredo TX to Long Island NY. They didn’t want any straps on the pipe... yet is impossible to secure without strapping the pipe. This load moved so much on that 2k mile trip I just got so frustrated. Ended up with bungees all over the back and I had some pvc pipe that were falling out and had them in my dunnage rack and side boxes and F that load. Then when I deliver the forklift driver knocks the stack off and breaks like 10 pieces as it was 5 degrees outside.
cke and MartinFromBC Thank this. -
I’ve done 2 auction loads... both are in my top 5 worst loads ever.stwik, cke, MartinFromBC and 1 other person Thank this.

Since you obviously only showed up here to post this, we are not a load board.

I once had a palletized load of grade stakes . They were just set on the pallet and every other lift was separated with 2 grade stakes as dunnage so they could air dry....with 1 plastic strap on the pallet and no shrink wrap on anything. They were about waist high.
I could reach in and move any stake I wanted.... and this shipper wanted to double stack the load front to back on a 48 foot flat ........
Needless to say I said no way that’s going on my truck like that..... after 5 or so minutes of back and forth I left the load there.......Last edited: Jul 26, 2019
cke Thanks this. -
I picked up a load of misc trailer axles in Texas going to the same company in oregon.. Quality axles iirc. They had every kind of axle you could imagine drop axles, short axles on pallets under long ones. I think I wound up with every piece of tie down gear I had on it before it was over with. Some of the grease caps came off, a few got bent and so on.
When I delivered I had a couple of grease caps I could hand him and I told him that there was some damage, and I wanted to just pay out of pocket. He looked out the window at the load, and ask what damage. I had some chain marks, and the grease caps. He told me that was not damage to them, the guys down there can not load a truck, and we have literally had a truck come in with a couple axles dragging behind it from a chain before. lolintrepidor, cke and kylefitzy Thank this. -
No sagging load today. 75’ gravy.....

You can have your straps as twisted as a candy cane and be perfectly legal. Nothing in the regulations about twists.stwik, Diesel Dave, JonJon78 and 1 other person Thank this.

I may be wrong, but I am pretty sure their is, in fact at one time, I am thinking it was illegal to have the one needed twist.
