Question For Any O/O's Who Just Started This Year

his problem is he does not have an ein, you can't be an llc without one, by the way it's not a law and has nothing to do with obama, it's a irs reg.and by the way haveing a llc does not offer you any protection, because you are the only holder of the company and are responsable for all debts and actions against the co., so dont even waste your money, you only support people pushing llc"s and scorp"s for a living

 

That's probably very true.

But also it is the standard in professionalism and there is an expectation of being officially organized where customers are concerned. The cost is not outrageous for this benefit.

 

it's not a benefit it is a useless and unneeded cost in this industry. most shippers like and know that most o/o's are a one truck co so hence the term sole proprietor. an llc offers no confort to any co you deal with, nor does it ensure professionalism

 

I feel it is, there must be others. Having it won't make you look bad to anyone. No downside.

It's like a dealership vs. Bob's wrenchhouse. I'd like to save some money on lesser things, but if it's really important I'm going where I'm comfortable it will be done right. Even IF it's not true.
