2011 prostar Cummins isx had engine light on. The oil pressure gauge lit red and pointer jumped to posittion to 0 and then to other max value side past 100 psi. Shut down engine and made sure there is no oil leak. Oil was charged 3000 miles ago. When I started engine again it did dissapeared and did it again in 20 miles . It's on and off.
Has anyone experienced this? Is it electronic, gauge itself, oil pressure sensor or maybe a pump? For now I don't see mayor change in oil temperature and truck is running ok.
TIA

Oil pressure sensor. #4921517. When you unplug it look for oil saturation inside connector. Don't take chances on $14 from ebay. 1/3 don't work. Buy a genuine Cummins.
Heavyd, BoxCarKidd, mhyn and 3 others Thank this. -
Thank you , I will buy Cummins part.
Two weeks ago I replaced coolant tank with aftermarket part $135 , went to 100 degrees Texas weather and the thing was leaking . I had to replace it with original part $500. Aftermarket part just don't cut it sometimes.
Anyway just what I tought, sensor.
Thanks a lot -
But but but they have the same number on them. Both say made in Mexico. You could swap them in the package and send it back. Why does one have Asian writing on the box?
Please excuse me that was and N14 but Amazon refunded my money.
