So this inspired me to do some looking on my own — after Odysseus, story goes that there was a guy named Yudeshishera (probably butchered the spelling) that climbed the highest mountain and was the lone survivor, except for his dog. The HMFIC told him to leave his dog and he could go to heaven — Yud, being the stand up dude that he was, told the HMFIC to F’ off and die — wasn’t going anywhere without his pard. HMFIC told Yud that he done good, cause the dog was actually part of the big family upstairs. My take — people will F you over every time, but you’re pard never will.
