Diesel is now .60 more per gallon where I live, so worse fuel mileage with gas could possibly make sense. I've been very interested in this new 7.3 gasser since it was revealed earlier this year. This engine is supposed to make it's torque down low and be paired with the same 10 speed as the 6.7 diesel. I haul 23-24k combined at most, so I could see a big gas engine handling that fine. Very little info has come from Ford yet on this drivetrain, but I would love to get out a diesel. Might be a pipe dream, but I'm looking forward to this new engine. Thoughts from the pros?

Are you saying it has as much torque as a semi? You cant compare a pickup to a class 8 truck. Why not just get a freightliner?

Doubt that gas engine will last anywhere near as long as a diesel. Might. But I doubt it.

I dont think it would. And I heard those things are hard to stop. Not like the semis with air brakes

I'm not comparing those and why would I need a freightliner to haul the light loads I haul?

Problem solved for about $12,000 if I remember right. You can buy a lot of fuel with the money you save from not buying a $70,000 pickup.

Nice truck but don't need a semi to replace a 3500 dodge.
