I had a rebuild done on a c15, we just did the gold kit because the head had already been replaced because of a rocket arm issue. 3 mos after the rebuild the head cracks, replaced that now its building pressure again. Head is good so when trying to diagnose the pressure they found my liners heavily pitted. Less then 30,000 miles on the new liners, this smells rotten. Is there anyway to prove the used the old liners? Anyone experience this? A 25,000 overhaul has now cost me 45.

I am Monday for sure. He threw me for a loop and told me he had to return the old liners for the core charges, I'm not seeing that in my paperwork.

If you picked up the truck allready doesnt matter they are gone. You are entitled to all old parts back but need to get them before you take the truck. Cores or not........

What you need sir is a good shop, not parts changers. Your extended troubles are likely due to the fact that the manufacturers procedure was not followed during the repairs. Failure to measure liner protrusion and or improper installation of the head and or gasket. JMHO

Do not return any parts. Even if there is a core on them.

what kind of anti freeze did they use? The wrong one can cause cavitation on liners in a very short time.

Arnt the liners supposed to have a cross hatched pattern? Would a bore scope see it? Would a bore scope see a dropped liner?
