Maybe you'd be doing all of us a favor if ST didn't pass his training period.
Is he what we really want to share the road with?
I'm sure you've thought of this but you have some personal liability. If ST goes out on his own, crashes and kills somebody, the resultant lawsuit is going to include you as part of the process.
It might never come to that but if it was your truck and your company would you put him out there by himself?

    FlaSwampRat Thanks this.

You ever just wake up all melancholy, and just put on some mellow Stan Getz or Miles Davis and really wish you would’ve gone to the bar to meet that art chick during your second sophomore year of college? And then you start thinking about it and realize that she was probably just an a-hole groupie and would’ve talked to you for hours on end about her sculpting out of tofu or something.

*note to self: Do not watch ”High fidelity” before bed after a long day with STT.

On the news, if it gets to 110, the day is depicted in red and a severe heat warning is issued. If it is 109, it's just another day.

They had these MONSTER salmon filets on sale. And they had these MONSTER ribeyes on sale.

I bought both. But now I'm wrought with indecision. And I forgot cereal. And I think you could eat a ribeye for breakfast, but not a salmon. And the bacon is in the freezer.

    Oh the huge manatee.

Thats the news nowadays. Overhype everything.

Every snow storm gets named now and its always the worst once since the last one. Every tropical storm is gonna be a cat17 civilization killer. Every rain storm is an epic event. So on and so forth.

It's not that. I mean how does your body know that it's 1 degree hotter and it's supposedly bad?

I think I'd rather hear fingernails on a chalk board. I may even drive over the side of the ravine faced with this option.

Let's wake up and start the day with some good music and be thankful we can dominate the world with plutonium based weaponry.

I think about that all the time.

I believe everyone deserves a shot. This is America. He has 240 hours drive time with me in the truck. It would be so easy for me to say this guy is a corvair. But the result would be that I’d feel like a quitter and lazy. This guy has been given, in my opinion, horrible instruction about so many aspects of trucking. He’s at least moderately open to instruction. I’m going to do my best. Yes there’s time I wish he’d just bump another trailer so this could be over. The thing is I really do love an underdog story. That’s this guy.

All I’d have to do is call the head of my terminals training depart and say “ I don’t feel safe with this student driver.” And they’d route me to the yard and give STT a bus ticket home. I believe the reason I was given this student is because they know I won’t do that just because the guy is annoying or not the kind of person that I’d hang with.

I don’t know @REO6205 maybe it’s because of my being so close to when I started driving truck that I remember what it’s like. I will guarantee this, if this guy is a danger as I near the end of his training I will not hesitate to tell training that and fail him.
