No you just need to pound the bricks, look at freight companies lots of them will hire you for a dock/hostler position and let you build into driving. Check construction service people cement haulers, rock and sand haulers, they tend to be less fussy on the time thing, out here several of them are hiring students right out of school, dont know about the otherside...Pound them bricks start sending out applications and resume's. You will have go looking though. Fed Ex dock potions or maybe Estes...tscottme, FlaSwampRat and TugHillRider Thank this.

I believe wadhams will take inexperienced drivers but they might try to put you in the rist LTL division which is not home daily. Never hurts to call though.

Can’t remember the name of the company but they haul out of west rock recycling up there. Have to have 30+ trucks out of that plant. Also see them pulled over by the troopers down here in the work zone all the time. Might be SFS, STF, system transfer something like that. Another one is NFI they haul beer outta baldwinsville. Or look for a local beer distributor they hire all skill levels. Also suit kote will hire you to haul liqued asphalt with no experience, I worked there but the hours were to crazy for me.FlaSwampRat and TugHillRider Thank this.

The hours were all over the place?

They had anywhere from midnight to 6 a.m. start time. But now I see you won’t get your CDL until December and they will be shutdown until spring. Very easy job, doesn’t pay great like most local jobs starting out. If I was you I’d do maybe food service with mclane for the winter and by spring you will of had enough of that and head over to suite kote. You will be very busy Mid April-November. Then you can go right back to mclane for the winter.FlaSwampRat and TugHillRider Thank this.

Thank you. I will have to look into that. Weigh all my options. Pretty exciting knowing that after a while, I can drive pretty much any commercial vehicle with a Class A, if you have the correct endorsements.

Beverage or food. Get that money and get the job you want that keeps you at home. Keep in mind the days are typically long but you get to eat food at your table and sleep in your bed.
Fold_Moiler and TugHillRider Thank this. -
Yeah I was thinking about food service, or milk delivery like Upstate Farms. Could do me good to lose a few pounds too. Money is there as well.FlaSwampRat Thanks this.

And you don’t have to sit in a truck all day crushing corn dogs.FlaSwampRat Thanks this.
