There are a few Cascadias in the fleet now, most were part of the ORT purchase. I've also heard rumors here and there of ProStars being bought but I'll believe that when I see it.

Dr. Venture,
I am a newbie that is prehired and schedule for oreintation in July. Can you give some insight of the company and what do you see from your eyes? What I can expect, I have done alot of research and believe what I have seen and heard is good.
Thanks -
If you want to do well here, adopt a very simple attitude: Give me a trailer and let me work. The drivers that tend to suffer from low miles are also the ones that tend to complain the most and cause waves in the office. Roehl is very structured and if you mind your P's and Q's you'll be fine. Keep your MPGs up and you idle time in check, make your appointments on time, and don't try to refuse loads. Dispatch will soon figure out you're a worker and will know you're reliable and you'll stay busy. It's simple. Roehl isn't perfect, and I've had my own issues here and there, but they are still one of the best companies to work for as far as I'm concerned.
BIGcountrySC and Cheryl Thank this. -
Thanks, They have been very nice and answered all questions I kinda figured that people that have complained probably the problem was there fault. I am very excited to get started and I will be one of the ones that will not turn any load down and try to make dispatch happy so they can make me money. I am going to start with vans since the recruiter told me freight was a little slow with flat beds, but is it hard to try to get into another division?
-
You can switch divisions pretty easy. I like being a flatbedder because I can pull anything. No flatbed freight? They'll throw me on a reefer or a van for a bit. A lot guys whine and complain about it, but I'd rather make a little less pulling a box than nothing sitting in a terminal waiting for a flatbed load.
-
Ah, I had a van driver complaining about flatbedders hooking onto vans and taking their freight when ours was slow. His logic was that he doesn't hook onto ours when his freight's slow. I didn't mention he was nowhere near qualified to pull a flatbed, while flatbedders are more than able to pull a van without much complication. But, that's in the past, now.

While there are people who are never happy, not all who complain are whiners. Roehl is a large company with a structure that places the blame for most problems that occur with a load on the driver. You have to be prepared to take some unjustified blame when things go wrong. Overall a good company to work for , just don't expect perfection.
-
I believe they're force dispatch anyway, so turning down a load is not an option as a company driver.
I don't think the perfect company exists. Sure there are some that are more tolerable than others or pay a little better, little better benefits etc., but perfections not going to happen, no matter what job you do in life. -
I appreciate the insight, I know that there is bad in all companies you are what makes it. I feel that I will enjoy the new exprience and will learn as much I can and do the best I can. Do they have a big turn over? The insurance pretty good? Anything else ya'll can think of I would really appreciate. Thanks Happy Trucking

That's a good attitude to have

Not sure on their turnover. We just got insurance started the beginning of this month so can't really put any thought into that yet either lol.
Best of luck to you and I hope it works out for you!
