I didn't take it that way. Back in my Navy days, I leved in Jax. Fl. I know the rules of the road there too. I guess to the outsider, 16 over does look excessive. And I'm not making excuses, believe me i'm not. That piece of I-20 between Birmingham and Atlanta, if your doing 75mph the chance of you getting ran over is pretty #### good. Most days, I would be driving 80MPH and pass hwy patrol and state troopers with no problems. Its an accepted speed limit, wrong but accepted. And on the average day you won't be pulled over unless you were weaving in and out of traffic, or just doing something stupid. In my defence, that was my first ticket in approx. 12 years not counting the seat belt violation that cost me $10.00 (one of those click it or ticket ticket) holiday weekend.

    What financial resources ????

You consider the OP doing a lot of "Silly and Comical things" with the truck, I consider it incompetence and a recipe for failure.

Now back to the rah rah love fest from the newbies with big riggin' starry eyed dreams......

I'm gaining my experience the hard way just like everyone else. The only difference is it's my truck at stake instead of someone else's. We're just having some fun with some very normal stuff. Instead of recalling all my stupid stories years down the road, I'm documenting them as they happen. I really don't understand what has you so up in arms about it. There's really nothing unusual going on. I can laugh at myself and invite others to do it as well.

I'm sure you have plenty of your own. It would be cool if you shared rather than pretending you somehow skipped all this.

Now, I don't have a dog in this hunt and I don't usually do this, but... Yes he has done things that I would consider silly, comical, and even bizarre. Things that most people in the industry would never admit out loud to doing. But he is trying and as long as he is not a threat to anyone's well being, I say let him go for it. Maybe he'll make it and maybe he won't. I'd be willing to bet that he will, maybe not make a lot of money but I think he'll be ok. I'd also be willing to bet my truck that he's not the only one on this forum who has done things that would be considered stupid by other people reading their posts.
I've been in this industry longer than some of the people posting have been alive and there isn't a day that I don't learn something. No one is born knowing all of the things that we need to know to succeed in this business, but most of us have had people show us what we needed to know to make it. At least, he's not sitting on his dead XXX whining about not being able to do the job cause no one took the time to show him and lead him by the hand. Why don't YOU offer some constructive criticism since you have years of experience and help someone who truly wants to succeed.
As for your comment about the new people getting into the industry. Are you so burned out and/or so jaded that you can't remember when you started out? Or were you forced to do a job that you never wanted to do? If so, find something else to do that might make you happy.

sure we all make mistakes. just not all are man enough to admit them. like the CB rambo's that been driving 40 years without so much as a scratch on their truck.
    some are LYING
    some are telling the truth.
AND some have just been LUCKY

It is entertaining to see the OP's fan club criticize anyone who does not fall into lockstep.... Sorry I am not a part of the rah rah glee club...

This is a business first not a "comical and silly" adventure... Does the OP have any sembelence of a business plan, probably not.....Does the OP know what his cost per day and break even point is ???? Again probably not.......... one other thing luvtheroad... get over yourself with your " I have been in this industry longer than many have been alive nonsense"......

Sorry but I'm not in anyone's "fan club" as you put it. And your comment about getting over myself about being in the industry... I probably have been in it longer than a lot of people posting have been alive and I am extremely proud of it. I chose the industry, it didn't choose me.
I'm not going to ruin the theme of the thread by getting in a contest with you. I wrote what I felt and if you aren't happy with what I've written please don't read my posts. Very simple. :biggrin_25525:
