Eh.
Ive learned not to put mind to that marketing glitz news hyping. The source that is (Not yourself)
We need trucks. But we cannot suffer bad trucks. That will sort out eventually. But we will not buy GOOD trucks. Just the bare minimum 350 engine and a bit of plush that burns up in 5 years. -
Company I'm leased onto got six Mack's this year. 500 1800 out pulls my 600 1850 DD16.
And they're getting great fuel economy.magoo68, D.Tibbitt, x1Heavy and 1 other person Thank this. -
They wanted $138K for a heavy spec day cab tractor ....... Nothing extra fancy either.
MartinFromBC Thanks this. -
My Mack 500 hp 1850 torque all out pull the higher rated cummins engines all day every day, and they are so reliable, they just keep going. Yesterday I ordered 7 more Granites, same specifications as the ones i have already. That MP8 engine with Mshift 14 speed transmission is a dream combination.sirjeff, uncleal13, x1Heavy and 1 other person Thank this.

Yeah, I wish I could talk my boss into just simply renting one for a week to try out..but he's a die hard Cat man. And I confess, I'm in love with my Western Star. But Mack, being from Allentown originally, will always be a favorite of mine.
I thought for a minute I had him talked into trying the Anthem when they first came out. The Mack salesman showed up one day with literature and the boss didn't run him off the property. He actually stood and listened and asked questions!
Baby steps.....Hammer166 and MartinFromBC Thank this. -
Are you in the $130 Range or are you getting a volume discount.........
P.S. you ain’t staying with a stout cat....

If that MP8 smokes an ISX it'd destroy a stock CAT. I remember when my dad bought his first ISX. Said it pulled way harder than the C15 in the truck he traded off. Plus the jakes were stronger. Said he could come down the mountain a gear higher and be on the brakes less than the C15. Just too bad it needed 2 EGR valves and a turbo in the 120k kilometers he owned it.

I am pretty sure that here you can't even buy a class 8 truck with only 350 hp anymore, or in a long time. In the 1970s that was a standard engine. Now its 450 and up in any new trucks i see.
