Yeah, sometimes, but have to go through the whole hiring process again.
With staffing agencies/temp services, don't have to go through all that.
You're not job hopping either because the temp/staffing agency is writing the paychecks, not the trucking company you drive for. It's a pretty good deal.

I'm perfectly happy to return to the same company. I just want 8wks off.

Anyway, the biggest issue i can think of is HEALTH INSURANCE?

    ???

Some staffing/temp agencies now have benefits including health insurance.

Work for driver leasing companies. They are Temp agencies that supply drivers to some trucking companies. You'll be paid a few dollars per hour / cents per mile less than normal employee drivers but you get flexibility with your schedule.

Yes. I was mainly pulling vans at first then flats and oversize until i hit over my 2 year mark. Its a family run company been in business for many years.

Left there to run seasonal for UPS last holiday peak. When that ended in January I went back and they came up with a night shift type schedule that suited my needs for 4 months. Long story short. I got called back to UPS for vacation coverage then instead was offered a full time position.

GF tells me all the time they miss me and it worked out nice to have someone work later hours picking up her and other drivers loads on top of the dedicated relay. She got her cdl last year and started running for them as well so i do stay in touch.

No ill will on either side, they know long term pay and benefits they cant keep up. I loved what i did and the company i worked for. Sometimes i still miss it. However better pay and benefits, home daily trumps being a road warrior.
