I have a couple questions, first, they told me that they only train in automatics, so I'd have an automatic restriction on my license, which I'm okay with, but are they a good company? Where do you run most of the time? I looked on their website and it show that it's mostly in the plains states, but the recruiter said they run all 48?

That seems like a bad deal if you went 60 mph 11 hours a day for 5 day you'll only get 3300 mile at .38 a mile = 1254 a weak * 52 = 65000 a year now if you had a 70 mph truck at .38 same as above would = 1463 a week and 76076= a year which equals around 10000 more a year but you can make you company more money and make less a year seen like your a good employee always puting the company first

Heyyo! Sorry for my late reply - I meant to hit you back yesterday.
I drive for Raider Express - just finished my 4th week solo.
Here's the scoop:
- Yes, school & training is 100% FREE. No contract. No pay back. 100% FREE. I had a #### ton of fun during my 28 days & passed my CDL Permit Test Day 1 & CDL Test first try.
- Yes, Hotel is $50 per check (weekly) payback.
- Pay is $.38cpm with up to $.06 Fuel Bonus on all miles. You won't get the $.06 in the 2017s they start you in, but you will get it in the 2019s & 2020s. I'm hitting $.03 Fuel Bonus mainly because of idle time.
- Benefits after 90 days.
- Main routes 90% are Texas to Colorado to Wisconsin/Michigan/Ohio and back down to Texas. Everything inbetween (Midwest). There are some NY, PA, VA routes - I've never been on them.
- What MOST these other drivers hate about Raider Express is our trucks are governed at 60mph. The Fuel Bonus really dictates 55-57mph driving. These guys chew a hole in their seat when they're behind me on 287 LOL. As they blow their horn & attempt to swipe me with their trailers as they pass me - they have failed to realize - The owners are VERY fuel conscious & as the driver, our hands are tied. I can't drive the truck past 60 & most of us are in that 55-57mph range. The routes are built for Fuel efficiency and so are the trucks.
- I drove 2700 miles 2 of my first 3 weeks & 2400 the 3rd week. Work was slow this week - had a few layovers on top of 2,000 miles.

When you go to Colorado, is it mostly East of 25?
I'd assume that being fresh into the trucking industry, driving 55mph would be a bonus because it allows you to get accustomed to things.

Yea. Denver, Englewood, Aurora, Greely, & Fort Morgan.
70% seems a little high. Might be closer to 50/50. The only thing that slows me down are the live load/unloads.
Imo, great company to get your foot in the door with. You can take it from there.
