Ya, it's a PITA to have to back out because some tard won't come back and move. When I can fuel, take a leak and get food, and the other truck is still there, with no one in it, THAT is too long.
Sometimes I only pull in part way to quickly clean the windows and mirrors if I don't need fuel, just food or a pit stop. But, I always pull up before I go in, and come back as quickly as possible, to not tie things up. -
well im going piss some folks off the fuel island is for FUEL...if you are not fueling I dont care how short of a time you'll be inside PARK first in a proper parking spot then go in...Even if i am only going in for a coffee refill I park first...the only time you will see me or my truck on the fuel island is WHEN i am fueling. PERIOD...its not that difficult to understand.

Hey LandShark
I'm not trying to be a smart ##### by asking you this question but have you ever been to the Flying J in Phoenix after 6 PM or any other similar truck stop that has no empty parking spots before dark?
I personally have no problem with somebody who needs to clean the windows and mirrors and then pulls up to grab a coffee or use the bathroom without holding me up. It's the inconsiderate fools who screw it up for those of us who actually make an effort to be gone before the driver behind us is finished fueling. I personally try my best to stay out of truckstops but sometimes I load up the street from the Flying J in Phoenix and I fill my thermos just before jumping on I-17 to pull an all nighter.
Like I said, I'm not trying to be a smart #####. I was just wondering what you do when pulling into a truck stop only to find no empty spots. He who is called I am Thanks this. -
A couple of posts on here id agree with. No one should park at the fuel island to take a shower. I personally will park my truck and then go in unless its in the evening and people are starting to look for a hole to back into then all stop at the fuel island clean my windows and pull up. I agree with old tradition if its late there is no point of looking to park as there more than likely not a spot.

The only time I dont pull up is if there are a bunch of other open islands and I just need to go in and use the bathroom quick. Otherwise if its full and there are trucks all around and most of the islands are full...I will pull up.
One thing that I hate though is finding an open island with a truck that pulled up, fueling and everything else, getting back in the truck...and having to wait another 5-10 minutes because the dumbwad decided to go to that truck stops subway or taco bell. -
