Bumping my 70 (42 minutes left) in Pecos TX where its 104 and you bet I have been idling the truck (for the last two weeks apu took a dump). After midnight I get 9 hours back and headed to a dropyard in Dallas, skip over to Nestles drop and hook to Walmart DC in Harrisonville MO before midnight Sunday and then deadhead to the yard for service, APU, etc. I love the way they have kept me running. I am looking at a 5000 mile pay period this week after a 400 last week. I wish they could give us the miles that we have run until cutoff even though we haven't delivered yet. Would even out the paychecks. Abilene and Cargo Transporters did it so I wouldn't think it impossible to do. If I didn't have layover on that last check, it would have been $1.
Anyway, thinking about going into eat. The sign on the door says no shirt, no shoes, no service. But It didn't mention PANTS!

So after I drop in Lincoln I will bobtail across town to pick up a preloaded trailer going to Joliet, Illinois for Sunday morning live unload. Then a few miles away to pick up a preloaded trailer going back to Omaha for Monday.

My dispatcher felt bad that he did don’t have anything longer for the weekend, but I left the house Tuesday and will turn in 3422 miles on this pay period. All fairly shorter runs than I’m used to, but like I told him, miles are miles.

If you listen to the experts, we are already in the beginnings of a freight recession, but I think for the most part we mainly haul recession proof freight.

What is the pay for orientation and training? Do they hire new grads? What is the starting cpm? Benefits good?
