Hmmmmmm. My truck is a 2012 Cascadia with the ISX15 death engine. 10 speed.
Bought it with 399K miles. Currently 632K miles, had it 26 months.
Missed 1 load in that time do to mechanical ( was actually electrical ) problem.
Made enough to buy two more trucks, much newer.
Truck 2 has been here 9 months, is on pace to make $100Kish after expenses before taxes.
He has missed 1 load do to mechanical problem.
Truck 3 is just starting.
Please tell me now that I / we are just "lucky".
Oh, almost forgot, my taxes are all paid, and I have a truck load of money in the bank.

yeah, but you live in your truck........LOL
Sani101 and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
I'm at home right now. I had those big years with like 10 months driving.
Truck 2 stays out a lot. He doesn't want to go home.
I advocate getting out of the truck for a few days at least every two weeks, but they want the money.
By the same token part of our "luck" is when someone calls with a huge load, and you were otw home or at home, we take it.
Get things fixed and PM'd at home.
It's all luck really.
But I am leaving tonight.Shardrk and Dale thompson Thank this. -
Neither one of you guys are lease purchase drivers. Lol
-
My truck is a lease purchase through Freightliner. My other trucks are lease purchases through Freightliner.
We aren't doing wtf stupid lease purchases.
It is a lease purchase though. But no $70K buyout at the end lol.
The guys that come to drive under my flag get into it for the cost of a piss test, I front all the money.
But everyone just lops it all together. -
The point of a lease purchase is not to make you rich today, it is to get you into to your own truck, that will be yours, like real estate profit comes later to those who work for it.
Driver love to blame companies for their failures, and ther's plenty to blame the companies on. However most lease purchase go bad because the driver does not know what there getting into to start with. Read te contract, take it to a lawyer before there's a problem...treat it like a business, not a Disneyland fund.Voodoo Pyg, Shardrk, Coffey and 1 other person Thank this. -
Just wait .......very few trucks go past 600K without some major engine work.
-
Ok. So your point is what? What does that have to do with the price of tea in China? We set aside money for that.
If it's gonna be like $8K, hey just inframe it for another $6K. When is it gonna be ready?Opus Thanks this. -
Inframe after failure is more like 30 grand......
The point is don’t gloat ...... save your money because repairs will come . And not the piss ant stuff you’ve dealt with.....062 Thanks this. -
I ran my '09 up to around 980k with no major (or frankly minor) engine work. Replaced dang near everything else though. But it's just the price of doing business. Think of it this way, for most repairs, I can cover it by running just a couple of days. No fun, but no big deal either.Shardrk and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.
