The Exorcist still makes my skin crawl. Best horror movie ever. Almost unwatchable.

Something is wrong with your stain if it peels. Paint peels. Stain soaks in, as in it dyes the wood.I am presuming you used a semi solid for the coating.

“The Thing” (first one with Kurt Russel) is the one that I absolutely cannot handle — spend way to much time in the hills.

No. Nope. Nada. I find it to be fascinating, but terrifying in a spiritual way. Don't need bad ju ju following me around.

Come, come now. If you look back a few weeks in this thread you will see some truly big miles... I think it was before you came along. In fact here is a quote of the summary. 992 miles in one legal day, on elogs. 1600 miles in 2 days.

Conversation between mostly me and @otterinthewater starts on page 372 if your interested.

I usually do a run similar to that once or twice every 2 months. But it has to be planned right, and you have to be willing to call it off if you get tired. Usually my back trip takes 12 to 24 hours longer than it normally would because I'm simply wore out from running my guts out at the start of my week.
