Not many government scales down there obviously. On a long road trip today with a trainee, before we get to the hotel tonight we will have had to run across 4 government scales...i have no doubt that we will be stopped and checked out at every single scale as well, we are over weight, height, length, and width, the full meal deal over permits, and tomorrow we will cross another government scale before our destination to unload as well. I am only on day one, and already sad to be on a 4 day road trip, I like going home at night. At least my trainee is super cool and really funny. At least we are only 10 axles today, and just 82,590 kgs gross, so not outrageously heavy.
What if it Snows?

Since some of you are not metric friendly, here is what google says we are in pounds.
182,080 is nothing.Dave_in_AZ, D.Tibbitt, dwells40 and 2 others Thank this. -
I always pull up to the pump and wash the fifth wheel directly with the pump nozzle. 50 or 60 gallons usually does the trick. Then pour the water out of the squeegee bucket and fill that with diesel. Use the squeegee to give it a final polish.
Be kind to your fellow drivers and leave the bucket of diesel so they can do their 5th wheel too.Lepton1, Dave_in_AZ, kemosabi49 and 4 others Thank this. -
I've been spoiled with that my whole career. I have always worked for massive companies so I never get looked at. I go thru the scales but have never got a red light, when dot are stopping trucks I never get pulled in. Driving a brown truck is a free pass with the dot and apparently this red one has the same affect.Dave_in_AZ, lilillill and MartinFromBC Thank this.

10k front axle
37k on the trailer

Well its hard to miss us today, so I am confident we will get to have a conversation with everyone lol.
Two pilot cars, one front and rear, beacons all over the truck and trailer, oversized banners, red flags all over the load, and every permit we can get, also limited to a maximum of 90 kms/hr despite whatever the posted speed may be...i told my trainee to keep it just under 90 so no way they can say we were speeding. Doing 88 in a 100 kms/hr zone right now. Got stopped in road construction twice already, that cost us a half hour to. Four day runs like this get so boring...and three nights in hotel rooms. We will see how far we can make it today, get a room, and continue on tomorrow is all we can do. Its nice that the pilot cars are my own at least this trip and not hired ones...and my employees driving them, they asked for extra work on their days off, so i gave them this run in pilot cars. So tonight should be fun at the hotel at least since we are all friends and like each other.Lepton1, Dave_in_AZ, FlaSwampRat and 1 other person Thank this. -
My math says you are 29k on the drives.Dave_in_AZ, Opus, thelushlarry and 3 others Thank this. -
