MARIJUANA?

I had a friend who work derricks (oil field). He never went on the job when he wasn't high. Either Coke or pot. He was listed as the companies #1 man in the derricks.

His LAST job. He was straight, he had run out, and dropped by my house to see if we had any weed. Which we did not.

3 hours later, he fell 90 feet.

But he was straight that day.

 

now that our goverment stopped getting the handout from the drug dealers they need to find a way to make money off it again so tax it .they need to be finding a way to make up for all that spending of our grandchildrens,grandchildrens tax that when they are born we will half to explain to them about the dream or brain fart our goverment had in 2009!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have meet such people.... and been such a guy... just not today, or for a while now. If I understand you correctly..."To each his own"?

Shades of Bob Marley! We knew about the carcinogens long ago (but people prefer to ignore such "scientific rubbish"...) but the DNA thing is no surprise either.
People seem to love to ignore statistics because there are always anomolies to statistics. For example: 85% of cigarette smokers will get cancer. When talking to smokers, they always quote from the 15%, such as "My grandma smoked until she was 80 and was just fine." Well, if you were going to fly somewhere and the pilot came on the intercom and said, "There's a 15% chance that we're going to make it there", would you want to take that flight? I've known guys who could run five miles, but the fact is, most smokers huff and puff a bit just climbing one flight of stairs.
That's smoking.
...and I guarantee you I can spot almost all of the dope smokers on a crew in one day, just watching them work. I do this as a field supervisor, and I'm almost always right. The tunnelvision and lack of inertia gives them away, even when straight. But I don't fire people for being straight on the job. I just keep a closer eye on these guys, because they'll always tend to be a danger to others, and we can't afford the extra insurance when things happen. My better performers aren't always the fastest: they're just working smarter using their heads - not imagining that they're using their heads.
