yes, but previous shows are reruns. these are all new now....unless the ratings kill it off, and her own show gets that time slot.

There are good companys and bad companies. Same as everything else.

I leased to TransAm and then JCT. Was never left high and dry after a tow. Most big companies that do leasing use trucks that are under warranty and sell them once the warranty expires or after x years. So most repairs will be covered and possibly the tow so there is no being left high and dry. Maintenance accounts are set aside automatically to cover repairs not covered by the warranty. The large carriers also often have contacts with repair chains so you get priority service on the equipment you are leasing from the carrier.

Like when I worked for TransAm, I broke down often, but the truck was ALWAYS brought into the shop within 12 hours of arrival, no matter how busy. It was checked, they contacted TransAm to authorize repairs, parts were ordered, and the truck got fixed. Usually wasn't down for more then a few days. Longest downtime was maybe 5 days near Gainesville FL when a shop had to disassemble the whole dashboard to replace the whole cab heat/ac assembly and vents. I was actually standing nearby once to overhear a mechanic tell an independent driver that he had to wait because 2 TransAm trucks came in and had higher priority.

I think the issue with most leasees is that they get the truck and think they can take it easy because they aren't a company driver. They refuse any load they think is hard, they take hometime often because they can, in general they have poor business sense. These things result in a driver not looking dependable and they start on a downward cycle resulting in failure. Or they make other mistakes like not submitting receipts for reimbursement, not being careful with fuel or money, or they they aren't careful and make mistakes that cause non-warranty damage and insurance claims.

There is a reason that the average american household has over 100k in debt and it isn't due to good money management skills.

The example you mentioned about Trans Am, doesn’t help any families debt situation. Quite the opposite, sitting for days with a truck that breaks down “frequently”, the driver usually is earning nothing, the payments don’t stop, plus the added expense of a hotel, that in most cases is not reimbursed by the company. You did mention that you moved on, and I can understand why you did. No matter how good your money management skills, if those wheels ain’t turning, you’re not earning! Your points as to the positive aspects of leasing, just don’t reflect the reality of many who have done all the right things, and still failed.

Investors bottom feed on social media sites like LinkedIn, thats where truckers need to tell investors why these programs are not ethical. Within a year or two I bet they go away.
