No where did I encourage speeding. By all means drive where you're comfortable. But dont think for a second that you can tell me how fast I should drive.

no you do not understand what i had said...there are POSTED speed limits. everyone around a truck driver can do as they please, and if they get caught and a ticket, no big deal. YOU (or any other PROFESSIONAL driver) need to go no faster than the POSTED speed limit, as a ticket not only can mean points on your CDL, but points on a company's CSA score as well as insurance spikes. the "average "Joe 4 Wheeler" could give a crap about the ticket he gets. he just pays for it, hardly ever fights it like a CDL driver would.

isn't that self preservation of one's all IMPORTANT license to earn a living...????

YOU (and other PROFESSIONAL) drivers NEED to be VERY CONCERNED about your career and future employment.

so when i said, YOU need to keep it at or just below the speed limit was not just FOR YOU, but FOR ALL CDL holders.

go ahead, run your butt off at break neck speeds, you apparently "think" nothing will ever happen to you.

You didnt listen nor understand anything I've said. I do not advocate driving above the posted limit. You the driver are the governor of your truck. Just because it goes faster than the posted limit doesn't mean you should be. I pretty obviously pointed out it's just as dangerous to be moving well under the posted speed limit as it is to be going well over the limit.

The truck should be limited to the speed of the roads you run most often, and the limits of the truck it's self. Your personal limits will vary as you get more comfortable. No where did I say the driver should be running wide open everywhere he goes.

Dont misconstrue my words to make it sound like I'm advocating driving over the limit because I'm not.

And I'm well aware of the ramifications of driving over the limit. My driving record is spotless.

If you dont want to run 75mph down the highway when the posted speed limit is 75 or above then be my guest to run 65-68mph. Just keep your slow ### out of the hammer lane for those of us that are comfortable to run that fast.

you should not be in the hammer lane. that's the passing lane, then you move back over to the middle lanes.

I'll be in the hammer lane running the speed limit passing you in your governed at 65 truck.

Just because you dont like driving the limit doesnt mean the rest of us feel like you.

I'll drive my truck how I want to. You drive yours how you want to.

And so it goes. Discussions always devolve to the lowest common denominator.

I don't think there is any genuine understanding of the speed problem anywhere. I prefer to consider time itself as a tyrant when given a load.

i don't drive a governed truck..i am retired. i did "up to" the posted speed limits when i drove.

and around here that's usually 65 mph on the highways here.

Which is exactly what I'm saying. You should be able to drive the posted speed limits. Which is more than 65 in most parts of the country.

I'm really not sure where you got that I was saying he should be speeding.

the below 70 statement is conducive to speeding.
