@88 Alpha who do you currently work with right now.
Matt1924 and LtlAnonymous Thank this. -

I'm glad you asked that (I've been asked before and I've ignored it). Now is a good time for me to talk about it. I hope this makes sense to you and anyone else watching this thread.
As a moderator, my responsibility is to be fair and unbiased. In order for me to do that, I intentionally do not talk about who I work for, just in case someone tries to accuse me of letting things slide due to a particular company affiliation. Something like, "Oh, you work for (insert company here), no wonder you never reprimand them. You always let them say whatever they want, in any thread they want, because they work for the same company you do!"
I personally think it's better if the staff don't disclose who they work for.
How is that going to work if I ever make it in at AAA Cooper? I'm not sure. I'll just have to cross that bridge when I get there.Matt1924, LtlAnonymous, REO6205 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Gotcha @88 Alpha
Matt1924, 88 Alpha and LtlAnonymous Thank this. -
I agree. I've been asked and I don't see any point to it. We're not hiring any drivers and even if we were we'd hire guys from around here that we already know.
Plus the fact that maybe, sometimes, once in while, we might do something that isn't quite kosher and doesn't need our name on it.
Plus the fact that my two partners would beat my like a rented mule for giving out the name.
Wouldn't that be something to see? Two seventy-somethings and a sixties-something out brawling in the parking lot like we used to when we all went to high school together? I guess maybe we could whack each other with our economy sized bottles Geritol.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. On another board, not that I was a moderator, but once people found out that I had quit ABF and who I was now working for... Things were just different. I could never quite put my finger on it, and I'm definitely not one to say people are jealous of me, but my light-hearted posts were no longer seen as light-hearted. I couldn't joke anymore for some reason.
It would have been 10 times as difficult if I were a moderator.Matt1924, Old_n_gray, REO6205 and 2 others Thank this. -
That’s great. I was delivering a step deck load to the new kiln they’re building there at Georgia Pacific.88 Alpha and Texas_hwy_287 Thank this.

@88 Alpha some time ago I used to work at averitt, averitt has shuttle runs (line haul runs) but theres two types of runs. One is your home daily run, then theres slepper shuttle per say you leave dothan, al to houston and if theres no freight at the houston terminal averitt will deadhead you back to your home terminal empty and those guys really make good money. I figure I share this info if anyone wants to check it out.
88 Alpha, Matt1924 and LtlAnonymous Thank this. -
Home daily only. My days of being over the road are OVER. lol
Matt1924 and Texas_hwy_287 Thank this. -
Nothing wrong with that. Although I do enjoy being on the road, it’s hard to do with a family of 8 needing me home. Maybe one day when they’re all gone the wife can saddle up with me and get some paid vacations going.LtlAnonymous and Texas_hwy_287 Thank this.
