As a brand new trucker, I definitely don't know what is dangerous and what is safe to drive. I often trust whatever my company tells me. I want to say thank you for posting this, since these kinds of posts give me a heads up on when to take a stand.

    Thanks man.

Shot front ends, substantial air leaks and really cracked trailer necks make up the big mechanical no no's ive encountered most. Low tread and leaks is kinda par for the course at beginner jobs.

And outlaw forced dispatching on a 1099. Drive all night to drop this, then all day to pick that and make sure its dropped by 10pm then...

Hey boss when do i sleep?

According to the owner, nothing. Heck just had an alignment and new tie rod ends when it was at the mechanic shop getting checked out last week for the new lease MC. I mean a year and a half ago. Wait, no i never said that, youre being rude, just give me those decals and insurance docs. We can look the truck over together after youve hauled a few loads [that i wont pay you for.] No, just use their fuel card [since mine is off for nonpayment.] no sorry i dont have any paper logs for this 1999 truck, just download the keep truckin ELD its great. See ya.

I’ve seen truckers pass me going 75+ in hard rain only for me to catch up to them at the truck stops to find they’re running on bald yes completely bald tires or how my uncle used to say “running on lemons”. Just one good hard brake away from a jackknife.

Well, im doing a local run in the daycab.

4 gallons low on oil. Trailer spindle empty, and the truck shut off from running out of fuel climbing the hill to thr pumps. It managed to pop start.

    Is it monday or something?

I'm glad the trucking school im attending isn't just a "CDL farm". They actually take their time and teach you everything you need to know about trucking. And from the picture I already knew those tires were bad because I learn it in school. Not sure how there is drivers who have their cdl skip over this and work for a company without knowing basic pre-inspection.
