The insurance has a high deductible and a large out of pocket max and you pay about 60.00 a week. Some people call that bad, I had no insurance when I started at Roehl so I call it good. I guess it depends on what you are used to having. As for the turnover rate I know all the large carriers have high turnover rates, I don't know where Roehl stands compared to the others. The over the road life probably accounts for many drivers leaving as they don't realize what it will be like for themselves, and there families. Your DSR will have a big influence on your happiness at any trucking company. I have had good ones since I started at Roehl but I know some drivers have not been so lucky. Good luck to you, you seem to have a positive attitude that Im sure will help you through some of the difficult times ahead.

Do you already have your CDL or are you going to be going to RDTC?

Does Roehl require drivers to cross to Canada? If you cant will they not hire you?

(I ask cause Ive heard a misdemeanor dui, even one 25 yrs old, is considered a felony in Canada and you cant drive up there w/ a felony.) Is that right?

Yall know if that is the way it is at roehl?

When I was hired, if you weren't able to go into Canada, your bonuses were cut in half. Haven't heard anything different lately.

I was supposed to go to TMC on the 22nd but have been pushed back a week. This was becaused I asked to and my recruiter respected my wishes. Said to call him when I am ready. I have read thru the roehl threads and wonder if they might be better. I don't want to start with a company and then try to switch. I talked to a Roehl recruiter and she said that NYC was about 1/2 % of there buisness so I probably wouldn't see alot of it and she also said hometime was out for 11 to 17 days and home for 3. The 3 days would be a full three days and not like some 34hr. weekends offered by other companies. This would mean actually more hometime every month. 144 hrs with Roehl every month as compared to 136 hrs maybe with TMC. Could anyone tell me if she was telling me the truth?

spinpsychle, what is so bad about TMC that you would say stay far away and do you know anything about Roehl hometime?

You'll be home three days every now and then. It's supposed to be 11 days out, but it's really plus or minus three. I haven't set any appointments since the time I showed up two days late for my own moving appointment. My family moved all my stuff for me.

Go look at the TMC threads for yourself. I did when I was in school and it's the reason I work here.
