Flatbed percentage pay

50 cpm on a $2.00 per mile load is 25%. Fuel costs are typically 40% of revenue on the truck (80cpm). So you are paying 20 cpm for fuel to make 50 cpm. Balance is 30 cpm to you.

Not correct. Using that $2, it would be 2-.80=1.20/2=.60 each... Basically, I will be making half of what the truck does after fuel

What are you doing that has your fuel cost at .80 cpm. Mine is less than 5mpg and my fuel cost runs about .65.cpm.

 

I do it every day. Currently on my 30 now. Try soda, it's almost all on pallets now, half pallets to be more precise and I just dump the #### in the door and a merchandiser comes by and does the rotation of stock and all that jazz and I pick the returns up next time around. Not a bad gig.

 

I'm not following your math here. The OP said he makes 25% of the load, which is 50 cpm, and is responsible for 25% of the fuel costs (which would be deducted from his pay, not what the truck makes).
