Everyone who runs legal has to stop for 10 hours....I do it at truck stops. I value my time and life, and will not be pushed to the limits to the point I am so tired I fall asleep at the wheel.
It is all in how one wants to run. I get my play time, I get 3000 to 3200 miles per week solo, and I am happy.

That's cool. I wish I could live off of 800 a week
-
Well, that's not an option working 4 Stevens. They're all about safety, legal speeds and legal hours. They can pinpoint ANY truck (with working QC of course)
EXACT location if they wanted to. I saw it done on the laptop in a motel by one office guy I shared the room with once.
This'd b the only reason I'd go elsewhere. Too much babysitting. I understand their reasons 4 doing that though. Most of Stevens's drivers are newbies. If they'd let them run without a leash, it'd be a disaster.
So I'll play their game as long as needed and then... we'll se.

Yup I hear ya. Once u get ur experience time to move on and make a good living

$80 per week is a BAD week...I make $1000 to $1200 per week, as I watch my expenses, and my fuel. The beauty of being a lease operator, if one knows how to run a business, one makes money

Yea that's right. Some guys run wide open and not care bout fuel mileage. And also not watch their expenses. Then they go blaming the company for not paying enoughBaack and Delirious Nomad Thank this.

So do you like Stevens L/P? and are you training students also
-
first and foremost, Stevens does not do a lease purchase, it is a straight lease, I will never own this truck. They also take the truck back at 400 to 450 thousand miles, refurbish it and sell it, while I get a new truck, to continue out my 2 year lease. I also will not train students, spent too much time training as a food manager, and I like my space what little we have in the truck.

Corrected I stand. Sorry McDonalds didn't work out, and now you are driving truck. But at least you are making lots and lots of money.
