I respect and understand this. However they will not be in my wheel house. I see the simplicity of no paper and how it can be view beneficial to a business owner. In short I dont agree and will not accept this pushed down my throat. Give a guy the choice fine. When the government wants to buy my equipment they can install them all they want.

Mr. Crusher your correct. Now let me be clear, The HOS is one thing. The government mandate forcing me to buy equipment in the name of safety is another. As a small business owner I do Not see how it can improve my safety to justify the added cost. If it did protect me from these twits with it, I WOULD HAVE IT all ready. It's about money and being forced that is my issue. They Gov wants to regulate freight and prices and guarentee payment again like before deregulation, I will think about it. Most everyone wanted deregulation and we are in a pile of stinky low rate sheet since. Racing to the bottom shipping war style to see who can do it cheaper. There is always 2 sides to the story.

I had a while back. I'm to big to mess around in an enclosed Kentucky. There open carriers usually stay near MI. I think I finally found something to do. Gonna ride around in a dump truck until the other job starts on the 19th. A buddy had one of his driver's det hurt and wanted to know if I'd like to get my rocks of a while.

Have you not spent time out on the road recently? Drivers are running like they're always late regardless of traffic and conditions. The 14-hour window offers no flexibility in the US. At least in Canada, you get that 2-hour grace period. On paper, you can run

I personally don't have a problem with elogs, I like them, they let a driver tell the company when they can and cannot run, but they have their downfalls. They allow a company to "encourage" a driver to start moving, even if they haven't had enough rest (because like any system, they can be manipulated to be taken advantage of).

They exist because outlaws running 4 colouring books at once took advantage for far too long, but people who advocate for more flexible Hours of Service regulations don't want more drive time, they just want a more flexible way to use them, to make up for lost time and to avoid traffic and bad weather, and not be punished for it.

Elogs are a problem for the industry on the whole, but that's because the HOS are the root of the problem.

And here it was just me thinking that the government has crawled up every exterior cavity of anyone that could, would and should go take a risk and work their ##### off to better their lives and the lives of those around them — silly me.
