It would never happen and if it did there would be no living witnesses....

I on the otherhand, will allow witnesses if they are not mean spirited- laugh at me all you want Except maybe right in the moment when my A holeness might come out

    Come on up.
We will throw on some tire chains and claw our way up and down some one lane roads where you hang out the side window to see the road, because through the windshield is just a view of the sky on the way up...its more interesting coming down when you can see the steepness better. The switch backs make it exciting!
I wouldn't change a thing that I do, its that sort of thing that makes me still get up every morning and go do it again. If i had to be stuck running the slab, I would not drive anymore, just hide in the pit and run loader, or go work in the shop...or possibly do nothing and just say screw it, let my daughter do everything, and I can fish and motorbike.

I will gladly stand to be corrected here, but as I recall the initial HOS rules may have been put into place in much the same scenario as we now have with ELD; that is to "level" the playing field between Union drivers and "Cowboys". As far as I know the railroad may even have had a hand in it. Either way, I really don't think that it has ever been about safety.

Yep. It happens when one gets elevated to sainthood.
Same page. I’d like a coffin sleeper.

I'll be getting another run of toques made this winter, for the people who live where it is cold enough to wear them, if you want one let me know where to mail it to.

I'm sure we can find something worthy of a toque to swap!

    Whoa.
    It wasn't " the cowboys ".
    It WAS the dispatchers.
Who in the early days were usually the Truck owners.
Honestly, how did this viewpoint ever get so widespread ?
A lot of people take pride in their job and providing an honest effort But who honestly WANTS to continue to work beyond a 12 hour effort ?
Continue that question beyond a 16 hour workday and what kind of percentage is left ?
Now what is the percentage who honestly wants to continue to do that day after day after day ?

Those hours were set, at least in part by the railroad complaining about unfair competition.
