Sorry to see what you wrote about your truck. I looked at Eagle's website & seen the picture of you class. I'm glad the miles are OK with all I have heard about the lack of fieght. Have you had any problems getting home? Since I have no idea which guy you are I'm going to guess the 2nd from the left in the front.:biggrin_2552: Thank you for your help!

I took the driving test a year ago with Roehl. I went to them as an experienced driver so I basically did a pretrip like I would to start my day. Then I had to demonstrate I could shift, turn and back without hitting anything or anyone. I float shift and even though they want you to double clutch they didn't and haven't told me how to operate my truck.

As a student I was shown to double clutch. I was shown once how to float gears, it seems to be alot easier to float. Do they want you to double clutch all the time. If they do why?

    Buck,
From what the trainers told me, Roehl wants you to double clutch. Why you ask....because thats the way the transmissions was designed to be shifted. If you float gears and are just a split second off, there is no give, you will either slam into gear, or grind the hell out of the gear. I play around with floating the gears, and in stop and go traffic it's real nice to do, it saves your left leg, but when you HAVE to make that upshift, or downshift, you better know how to double clutch and get that transmission into gear, it could save you from an accident, or worse.

Just work on the double clutching, and play with floating them later. As one of my trianers told me, your first million shifts will be the tough ones.
