Pulled in to Banning for an inspection.... Did the inspection, took a leak, and was out the door with a sticker in 15 min.

The roving Texas dot's will always write you up for something, if they have to invent it. They are good about only fining you for one thing, even if they write up a laundry list.
I had one pull me over on I-20 just west of Amirillo once, and did the full inspection without mentioning my log book, I thought I was lucky and going to skate on it.lol
The last thing he wanted to have a look at my log, hmmmmm I don't think I have it with me. Him, what is wrong, are you behind. I told him I had been home several days and they called with a load, in a hurry I headed over here to get it and didn't start my log yet. Now he ask how long I had been home. hmmm I told him I didn't remember.
I finally gave it to him, it had been 31 days since my last entry, and I was in lowsiana HEADED to Florida at the time. He got to laughing, and said, you were just a little behind when you got home weren't you.
I told him I was not known for my secretarial skills.
He handed it back and told me to put, I had been on vacation for 7 days and lets try this again, wrote me up for a cracked mudflap and let me go. lol
The best Texas dot by far I ever ran across.lol

Not DOT but The NYPD. My first trip to Queens I took a turn down a street I had no business going down. Called the non emergency police number and the finest looking lady officer I’ve ever seen showed up to block traffic as I backed out. That was the only pleasant experience I’ve had related to driving .

I got a level 2 today from one of MD’s finest. Nice guy actually...

This poor trooper had me feeling bad for him. After handing me my license back and paying a compliment about how clean my truck is he told me about having to do truck inspections until 3:00 PM just to go home and come back in tonight at 11 to go on patrol because, to use his words, people don’t behave on Friday nights.

I got DOT inspected twice in 3 months in California. April and June 2019. One at the I-80 scale house in Truckee and the other on I-5 in Redbluff. I passed both inspections with zero violations. Although they walked around checking tires, lights, open hood, they claim to only do a level 3 cursory inspection so I didnt get a sticker. This means they can inspect me again at anytime. I am thankful to have gotten 2 clean inspections in California.

Being that I am with Mercer, Qualcomm Elog, new trailer, very clean truck and trailer, professional tarp job, plenty of straps with no wear, and like new tires and brakes on truck and trailer, inspections should be a breeze if i have a good attitude towards officer.

CHP was very polite and quick inspections within 10 minutes.

Now, on one of my inspection, I had a Hazmat load on a Flatbed. I didnt know that there is a California Hazmat permit needed. Thankfully, Mercer included that in my permit book. Otherwise, i dont even want to think about it....

In the space of 6 months I got pulled over by the same trooper, on the same stretch of I 10. Come to find out his parents are my neighbors by a couple of blocks. Just chitchated a bit, checked my logs and said "be careful out there" to each other. That was nice.
