Jct has a very high iss-d score which is 98 out 100 very bad. When they are pulled over or go through the scales this is what the dot looks at. Their out of service for drivers is 11% the national average is 6.8%. With a high score like that its apparent they are running not a tad illegal but straight up illegal. The money is there but so is the major fines when you get caught and they have been caught that's why the high score is there.
We know the economy has made dot step up to get some money for their budgets. We do know how to run illegal and still be safe. The problem is when the safety is running on fumes burning the midnight oil to much. I do like what jct offers out of the lease offers they are at the very top. I like the fact that they dont over load there company with drivers. The freight is there for you to make a very good living in very good equipment.
Like said before this type of trucking is not for everybody and you should know whats expected of you before you sign on. Im not mad at Jct it is what it is.

So are we to take all the wonderful things we've read about JCT with a grain of salt because those that have negative things to say are afraid to say them on here?
That's something to keep in mind when I see a lot of positive on any company, I guess.
Does anyone want to explain why they think there is such a high driver SEA score on SafeStat for JCT? Over 1 in 10 JCT drivers inspected are taken out of service. That would lead me to believe that in order to make money you feel the pressure, if not the outright push, to run illegal. What say you? -
BINGO!!! We have a winner!
-
Actually their accidents rates are about the same. Prime has a higher OOS rate for their vehicles. As I said before, JCT's OOS rate for drivers is incredibly high though.

The only anger I feel toyards JCT is for making us sit through 4 days of garbage, telling us about safety & the importance of logging 'by the book', then on the first day, dispatching us on loads that we cannot deliver without ....... being creative. Preaching 60 mph for fuel economy, then dispatching loads at 100 mph, or no sleep, whichever way you want to look at it. This is the only place I have ever seen where the company condones, even encourages drivers to run trips without even logging them. Most companies, ESPECIALLY those with satellite communications don't want to have to show documentation matching loads with drivers. Anyway, after being told that I am not going to make it here if I am going to log legal, I would suggest to those who are considering quitting their jobs to come here, to be prepared to face the DOT, without the support of the company. JCT spends 4 days telling you to run legal & by the book. It will not their fault that when you get caught.walkinboss and RightSideSlide Thank this.

Trucking is a crazy business. I read on the forum about drivers sitting for days at a time logging 1500 miles a week. Now I am reading on this thread about being expected to drive 1000 miles without stopping. Is there no happy medium?
I have followed this thread from the begining and I have heard over and over again that if you do not want to run hard don't come to JCT.
I understand your situation. I will never tell you to drive impaired. Fatigued drivers are impaired drivers. I run loose leaf logs. Sometimes I have to be creative to get the job done. BUT in my opinion there is a dirrerence between being creative and being dangerous. It comes with experence.
Can you find a driver with JCT that can give you some advice? There is a groove to trucking. Maybe a driver that has been with JCT for a while can help you find your groove.
LMB seems to know a lot about how to make JCT work. I know he runs team with his wife but,I bet he has some advice that could help you.
I wish you well. -
Running hard is great. I came here to work. If I wanted to sit in a truckstop, there is one where I live, but that is what I am doing here, since I have refused to stay up all day, then run all night. I know creative, most of us do, but this goes WAY beyond creative. What advice can be given when a your DM says you won't make it here if you are going to log legal?

We hardly have those loads that require you to drive over 1000 miles a day. Sometimes I know most of them are TYSON loads. When they like to give you ur load way past ur deadline. And we don't reshedule those loads. If you can't do it contact dispatch and most the time they get u a relay. I know they might sound irritated but they will relay you.

Ask him to put it in writing. -
Like I said. Its not a regular to run 1000 days. That is a load that once your off the rookie board a HOT LOAD. What load you got now? Was that 1000 mile a day load your talking about a TYSON load? If you tell me when your at I can basically tell you where you will possibly go next. Also if you have plenty of time on a load and you go by okc, sapulpa, phoenix, mira loma, or ft worth. Ask if u can drop it there. Well that is if you wanna run. Anyways your prolly on the rookie board now and they will want to push you more than normal to see if ypu handle itwalkinboss Thanks this.
